An incredibly beautiful out-and-back trail.This is a “must do” hike in this area. It’s a moderate hike of about 6.5 miles, 3.25 miles each way, and takes about 3 hours.

There is a 1200 ft elevation gain, so it’s a good workout!
Features: running creek with numerous small cascades, 80 ft waterfall, beautiful wooded environment with shaded trails.
There aren’t many shady hikes in the Los Angeles area, so it’s valuable to know where any of them are.
There’s a great short hike in the Pacific Palisades in Santa Ynez Canyon where the trails are covered by wonderful shade trees.

The Malibu Grotto Hike is a “must do” hike in this area.
This is a very beautiful environment, especially after some rains.

The trail is located north of Malibu. It has waterfalls, a creek and stunning mountain and canyon views.
This out-and-back moderate hike is about 2 miles each way for a total of 4 miles. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to do the entire hike and take in all the sights.
The hike to Newton Canyon Falls is located inland from the Malibu, Pt Dume and Zuma Beach area, in the Santa Monica Mountains.

This is an out-and-back easy-moderate hike featuring two waterfalls. It covers about 6.5 miles total and takes about 3-4 hours.
Who knew there was a fabulous waterfall in a stunningly beautiful nature park in Thousand Oaks?
It’s definitely worth a trip there to hike the Paradise Falls Loop in Wildwood Park.

Solstice Canyon Loop is in the Santa Monica Mountains in the Malibu area off of Corral Canyon Road. This is an overall easy to moderate hike of about 3 miles and takes about 2 hours.
