You should visit this amazing place north of Malibu for beautiful hikes and walks through trails in meadows overlooking the ocean.

You can walk on the bluffs above the beach on the Aniso Trail, or walk along the beach between Refugio State Park and El Capitan State Park. It’s not overcrowded like so many other Santa Barbara area beaches.
There’s a great short hike in the Pacific Palisades in Santa Ynez Canyon where the trails are covered by wonderful shade trees.
It’s definitely worth a trip there to hike the Paradise Falls Loop in Wildwood Park.
Don’t miss this hike on Hondo Canyon Trail. It’s got wonderful views of rock formations and the canyon as you traverse this long mostly shaded trail.
Wow … look at the fabulous view from this trail! This is a wonderful easy hike on wooded trails along Big Sur river as it empties into the ocean. Click here for more photos and info
Nicholas Flat is located high atop the Pacific Ocean and Leo Carrillo State Beach, in the Santa Monica Mountains north of Pt Dume and Zuma Beach. You can spend a good 2-2.5 hours on a few miles of family friendly, mostly flat trails. This area has a nice remote feel to it. Click here to see more photos, trail info and map
